The last few months of 2009 12/30/2009
The majority of our time in October was spent completing the preparation of our house for sale. By the end of the month, the majority of the preparation was completed and our house went on the market on October 27. In November, we served at the National Missionary Convention in Peoria, Illinois where Joe and another GFA volunteer handed out approximately 500 copies of Revolution in World Missions, we introduced many people to Gospel for Asia for the very first time, and a new missionary was sponsored. In December, Joe continued contacting churches in the Chicago area to introduce them to Gospel for Asia. He is currently tentatively scheduled to speak at two local churches in February. From the beginning of October through the end of December our pledged support has increasaed from 60% to 83%, so we will be moving on down to Texas to join the home team staff as soon as our house sells. In the meantime, as we wait on the Lord's timing for our house to sell, we continue serving Him here as He leads. We hope you had a truly blessed Christmas! And we rejoice that many people in Asia celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus for the very first time this year and we pray for many more this coming year! "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21 (NKJV) House Preparation 09/30/2009
In the month of September we spent less time support raising and more time preparing our house to put it up for sale so we can move to Texas and join the rest of the home team staff. Prepping a house for sale may not seem like it is related to the salvation of souls thousands of miles away, but it is because we will most effectively be serving at GFA once we are actually working alongside the rest of the staff and filling a need there so more people can be reached with the Good News! So hopefully we can have our house up for sale in the next couple of weeks. Despite our reduction in time spent on support raising, our support team continued to grow in September and we are now at 63% of full support. Thank you to all who have joined us in this ministry to reach some of the world's most unreached people with the Gospel of Jesus! May the Lord bless you for your faithfulness to Him! "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) Chicagoland Homeschooling Expo 08/13/2009
On Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, we served at the Gospel for Asia booth at the Chicagoland Homeschooling Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois. While there, the Lord opened the door for us to introduce approximately 90 people to Gospel for Asia for the first time. Our prayer is that they will read the Revolution in World Missions books we gave them and respond as the Lord leads them. If you haven’t yet read Revolution in World Missions, we encourage you to do so. It is truly a book that every Christian should read because the message in it is so important and powerful. As Christians, we ought to be living our lives fully for the Lord and for His kingdom. Revolution in World Missions shows how many of us have lost our focus on that and are living self-centered lives for our own kingdoms, while there are millions and millions who have never heard the Gospel and are destined for eternity in hell. "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:1-2 (NKJV) First Presentation 07/28/2009
On Sunday, July 19, we had the opportunity to go to Calvary Chapel in Elk Grove Village, Illinois to speak about GFA and our role as part of the home team staff. It was a real blessing to see some brothers and sisters in the Lord whom we had not seen in a long time and to meet some for the very first time. This was the first presentation Joe made for GFA at a church and so we were very thankful for the opportunity. It seemed to go fairly well as we spoke to numerous people afterwards who were very interested in the work the Lord is doing through GFA. If you think your pastor would be interested in having us come out to your church, please feel free to contact us and we will gladly respond to you as soon as we can. Since our last post, we again have seen our support team grow in some unexpected ways and thank the Lord for His provision! "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) Road Trip to Kentucky. 07/15/2009
Even though we are currently raising support to join staff at GFA, Joe still volunteers as a GFA representative at local events. So on June 29th we travelled down to the North American Christian Convention (NACC) in Louisville, Kentucky. This was not exactly local from our home, but it was relatively local compared to travelling all the way from the home office in Carrollton, Texas. First Post! 06/12/2009
