Introduction

Several years ago, I began writing a short letter to my family and friends that grew into a short book. That short book grew into this website. My purpose was to let my family and friends know that there are very important and sound biblical reasons why I left the Catholic Church and to show that I am not involved in a cult or anything like that at all. I would now like to share this information with you, so that you also may become aware of how the teachings of the Catholic Church I have presented compare to the teachings of the Bible.

Please know, I have not written this book to judge or condemn anyone. I have written it out of love for my family, my friends, and others, and out of my love for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My hope and prayer is that you will be encouraged to seek Jesus with all of your heart, and to think about what you believe, know why you believe it, and consider the eternal consequences of your beliefs.

Although I was raised in a Catholic family, went to eight years of Catholic grade school, was an alter boy until I was a sophomore in high school, and regularly attended Mass until I was 28, I no longer go to a Catholic church, and do not consider myself to be Catholic. Leaving the Catholic Church was not something I just suddenly decided to do one day, nor was it something anyone talked me into doing. It was a decision I made based upon much prayer and reading of God’s Word, the Bible, as well as the evidence before me. There are very important and serious reasons why I am no longer Catholic. Please understand, I am not condemning anyone who is Catholic. I only want to share with you the reasons why I am no longer Catholic and encourage you to seek Jesus with all your heart regardless of what church you do or do not attend. I hope this website will encourage everyone who visits it to think about what they believe, know why they believe it, and understand the eternal consequences of their beliefs.

If you are involved or interested in the Catholic Church, you probably already have some kind of belief in Jesus. Now, the question is where can we go to find out what the Catholic Church teaches and where can we go to learn more about Jesus?
